u O Research provides free online access to many University of Ottawa theses.If the thesis is not available online, request it online or at any circulation desk for consultation at the Archives and Special Collections, or view the microfiche at the Media Resources.All Stanford dissertations and theses are listed in Search Works.

Students retain the copyright of their theses and major research papers.

Under the terms of the “Thesis and Major Research Paper Copyright Licence” students grant Brock University the right to preserve and disseminate theses and major research papers via the Brock University Digital Repository, Library and Archives Canada and in other third party thesis databases.

If the thesis or dissertation was filed in a digital format (this option was available starting in November 2009) it may not be indexed in the Dissertations & Theses @ Stanford database, but it will be available through a direct link in the Search Works record and from Google.

If the student opted for embargo restrictions, some of or the entire dissertation may not be available for up to five years after the submission date.

If the authors have signed release forms, theses may be purchased for research purposes. Copying: If not found anywhere else and if permitted by copyright law Killam Special Collections can provide copies (25 cents a page).

Acadia theses are located in Special Collections on level B1.

As a category of scholarship, theses and dissertations, major projects and graduating papers, represent intensive research into a problem together with formal academic expression of the results of a scholarly investigation.

This kind of work is often a key measure of a student's readiness to contribute to the discourse of a discipline, most often at a graduate level.

The Vaughan Memorial Library provides an interlibrary loan service that allows students and faculty to order print or microfiche copies of theses from other institutions. level theses are available in microfiche format from the Library and Archives Canada through our interlibrary loan service.

The ability to borrow a thesis is dependent on the lending library and some institutions do not lend their theses. Digital Dissertations: As a visitor, you can search the citations and abstracts for the current year in the Dissertation Abstracts database and purchase copies of theses.
