In my view, perfection is not an absolute state, it is changeable as the life itself.

People cannot stop in their emotional and intellectual growth, new events in their lives change their views and sometimes make people redefine themselves.

The story’s conflict revolves around his attempts to remain loyal to his father. Long-endured oppression as a member of disadvantaged class, poverty, and ensuing jealous rage in relation to the wealthy, are what motivates Abner Snopes to commit his criminal acts.

The climax of all the conflicts was with the house of Major de Spain’s house. As a character in the story, he is juxtaposed to his young son, who, in spite of his age, knows what is morally right and what is not, and finally makes the morally right choice, turning his back on his father, and frantically warning De Spain: "Barn!

He, therefore, shall not be bound to the loyalty of any blood relatives but shall choose a new path in life. But this initiative alienates the protagonist from this private circle and forces him to leave his family.

He had tried to be loyal to his father in the hope that he shall change. Thesis statement: In the short story (say, Barn Burning), conflict originates from the protagonist’s dilemma, complication originates from the.....he does; as we see later in the story, he not only purposefully stains his new landlord, Mayor de Spain's, expensive French rug with horse manure from his feet, but he also attempts to burn his barn in the end.

One can hardly call a romantic partner perfect, if he or she has to constantly be on the lookout not to disappoint or embarrass the partner.

In this view, the concept of perfection in a romantic partner is more of a feeling about what is right than a rational and thoughtful analysis of what should or could be right for a person.

To my mind, people’s ability to undergo changes and grow while retaining harmony constitutes perfection.

In this view, I can agree with the protagonist of Murakami’s short story that a perfect romantic partner can “can’t seem to remember” a lot of details about the perfect romantic partner.
