Market research indicates that there is a significant need for quality home health care and social services within this region and we believe that by employing competent and well-educated staff and providing them with organized and responsive management, we can become the home health care/social service agency of choice in Southeastern Kansas.

Wheatland Health Services will be created as a Kansas Limited Liability Company based in Wilson County, owned by its principal investors and principal operators.

There are some 44.7 million people 65 and older in the United States, accounting for 14.1 percent of the total population.

In 15 years (by 2033), however, the population 65 and older is projected to outnumber people younger than 18 for the first time.

According to the Census Bureau, 13 percent of the population will be over the age of 65 by 2010. Many older people want to remain in their family home as long as they can, so savvy entrepreneurs are rushing in to provide a range of nonmedical home care services that help them age in place.

"You help people perform the simple functions of daily living and don't let them get so run down that they wind up in assisted living or the emergency room."The biggest obstacles to breaking into nonmedical home care are often the seniors themselves, who are reluctant to acknowledge their needs.

The process for licensure and insurance certification has already been initiated and we are well on our way to meeting the regulations and guidelines for providing home health care and social services to patients in Southeastern Kansas.

There are currently only three other home health care agencies that serve Southeastern Kansas.
