The library also receives a microfilm copy that will be cataloged into the library collection. The Proquest publishing process can take up to 8 to 12 weeks to complete.

You will receive an email from Proquest when your dissertation or thesis is published in the databases.

Once you have logged in and are ready to publish, you will be asked several questions during the process concerning copyright protection, open access publishing, and if you wish to delay (embargo) the publication of your dissertation or thesis.The instructions below supersede all instructions contained in the Pro Quest form itself (you may ignore pages 1, 2, and 3 of the form).Pages 4 and 5 of this form are required for all doctoral candidates at Penn State.On page 4, please check on the top part of the page and Yes under SELECT PUBLISHING OPTIONS.Sign at the bottom of the page (any restrictions you wish to place on your dissertation are done on the e TD Website; this form will not be sent to Pro Quest until all restrictions have been lifted, usually two years after graduation).If you wish to order copies through Pro Quest (page 7; also optional), keep in mind that copies are made from the microfilm and will not arrive until approximately 10 months after your graduation (if you have not chosen to restrict access).In the case of restricted access, Pro Quest will not be able to produce your copies until the restriction is lifted.These databases can also be found on our library online databases page.
