(ii) The Honors Coordinator will schedule periodic meetings and workshops with all students completing Honors in Chemistry throughout the final semester to facilitate thesis progression and completion.
(iii) To ensure that the defense deadline is met, students should schedule the date approximately one month prior to defense.
These courses are recommended preparation for those planning to pursue research in Chemistry, particularly those planning on further graduate work.
Following the Honors Curriculum can provide one route to graduating with Latin Honors.
A student in the Individualized Curriculum track has the option of taking Physical Chemistry courses specifically designed for students interested in the Biological Sciences.
Example 4-year track for Biological Focus Curriculum Example 4-year track for Physical Focus Curriculum We offer an Accelerated Honors track for students having two years of high-school chemistry and a high Advanced Placement Chemistry exam score.
Students are required to complete the Honors in Chemistry Form and submit it to Dr.
Lindsay Comstock no later than end of the semester prior to the student’s final semester.
Approximately one-third of our chemistry majors are double majors.
Recent examples of the second major include Astrophysics, Biology, Economics, Government, Neurobiology and Behavior, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, and Sociology.
