My daughter is looking foward to go to each class at Mathnasium. Before he used to count using fingers, now he use the wonderful techniques taught at Mathnasium.
It is also fun to study as teachers are very cooperative and friendly, he never want to miss any day and also have fun during game time after the class.
I am a homeschool mom that uses Mathnasium for my child’s math education. Because it is mastery based there is no pressure to fall behind. Overall though and what is most important is the effectiveness and that is apparent at has attended Mathnasium twice a week and has moved her grade in math from a C to an A.
The exposure to a variety of math teachers at Mathnasium has been extremely helpful in helping anna to further understand concepts and to learn different tools to help approach problems from a new perspective.
Britannia Secondary draws its students from Vancouver’s poorest neighbourhoods, including the Downtown Eastside, Strathcona and Grandview-Woodlands, neighbourhoods where poverty is endemic.
The Vancouver School Board has designated 30% of the students at Britannia as having special needs. We offer year-round math programs as well as summer-only programs. The teacher is really good with little kids and when they get distracted she guide them back to the task. We saw a five point improvement in their math grade just after 6 weeks of attendance! We’re located in the Panther Creek Village Center at The Woodlands Parkway and Gosling Road. My daughter is looking foward to go to each class at Mathnasium. In just couple of months I see a big difference in my kid's confidence level and knowledge in maths. She never complains about going and receives open and friendly assistance when working. My children have been attending Mathnasium in The Woodlands for several years now (summers only).Kara has done an outstanding job of communicating with us and setting up a program tailored to helping my daughter be as successful as possible. What I most like is that they dont only work with her on their routine math but they explain and help them with their school homework . While the program does require work and isn't always fun, they really enjoy the instructors and the environment there. My boys have been going to this school for 5 years now. Please note that available apartments near a given school are filtered by proximity, not by attendance zone. Before you start packing, make sure Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School is really the best option for your child. We add to this the active support and advocacy that Kim Leary, the Club coordinator, provides the students. And we top it off by awarding bursaries at the end of each academic year to Homework Club students who are continuing on to post-secondary education but might not otherwise qualify for bursaries. We truly appreciate her and Mathnasium (and the start with John Opalko and his wife's passion for math education). My daughter used to think that she wasn’t good at math and doing math with her was miserable for us. They should keep sign and make sure parents are following sign to use those parking lots for just pick up and drop off. I’m always so grateful for the patience and kindness they give to him. I wish there weren’t as many noisy kids in the center but that is unavoidable with the number of students and the limited number of staff to keep the students on task. We have been very pleased with how well the summer program has prepared them for the upcoming school year. As a parent, I am very likely to recommend Mathnasium.Since she started at Mathnasium her math skills have advanced so that she is now grade levels ahead and her confidence has skyrocketed. Often times they keep sign but still a problem for pick up and drop off. Instructors are so patient and explain things in a way that my son understands. My goal was to increase my daughter’s confidence in Math. Bringing my daughter to Mathnasium has been a great help for her ! My daughter; however, who can be quite anxious in public, is not a fan of having to raise her hand.
